One Belt One Road

Kaluga Region is a part of the international logistics project "One Belt— One Road". The logistics corridor provides optimal time and cost conditions for the delivery of goods from Asian countries to Europe. The reference point on the route in the center of Russia is the railway terminal of the Freight Village Vorsino.

The initiators of the project, which has become an alternative to the transportation of goods by sea, are the government of Kaluga Region, Samsung Electronics Rus Kaluga and "Russian Railways".

Starting in 2016 from one direction — the Dalian port (China) - TLC "Freight Village Vorsino", today cargo transportation is carried out from more than 20 major points of consolidation of cargo in China: Shenyang, Suzhou, Changsha, Chongqing, Chengdu, Dalian, Guangzhou, Yiwu, Nanjing, Nanchang, Linyi, etc., as well as from ports and railway stations of Japan, Turkey, Mongolia, Kazakhstan, Belarus, etc. Container trains run through the Zabaikalsk and Naushki border crossings. The geography of the routes is constantly expanding. Trains run on a regular basis, designed for any category of cargo. The average travel time is 14 days. For comparison, the delivery of goods by sea takes about 50 days.

In 2022, the first mail container train "Russia" was sent from the Freight Village Vorsino terminal on the Vladivostok-Moscow-Vladivostok route. The service is focused on providing transportation of postal items, as well as commercial bulk cargo. The main feature of such transportation is the schedule and technology specially developed by "Russian Railways" for the needs of "Russian Post", providing for the possibility of uncoupling and hitching fitting platforms with containers at stations of large cities along the Trans-Siberian railway — Khabarovsk, Irkutsk, Krasnoyarsk, Novosibirsk, Omsk, Tyumen, Yekaterinburg and Kazan.
